After the Loved Ones and Gaslight called it quits, I said..... I'm 37, been listening to punk music for 25 years. I'm probably not going to find any bands that I truly love in that genre anymore. Menzingers changed all that. Thanks boys

I thought TGA was still on a hiatus. Did they confirm they officially broke up? I haven't been a huge fan of Fallons solo.
Also anyone loving The Menzingers may like Red City Radio. They are more rock, but you get that grungy vocals =)

@@agnady08 They haven't officially called it quits, but there isn't any indication of them properly regrouping. Brian has said he's open to touring again in the future but has made it clear that a new Gaslight album is unlikely. He says they already said everything they want to say with Gaslight, and forcing another record would be unhealthy for the band members' friendships. It's disappointing but it is what it is.
In lieu of a Gaslight album, check out the former members' new projects/bands: Dead Swords W/ Alex Rosamilia's, and Mercy Union W/ Benny Horowitz.
I first heard the menzingers when I was a freshman in college. Skip 6 years, hearbreaks, jobs, crisys, and their songs never left my playlist. I'm pretty sure it will keep like this for a long time.
Had a break up last week and thought this year was gonna suck. New menzingers album. Best year now.
Got dumped once. A week later I discovered On the Impossible Past.

These guys are criminally underrated. Easily one of the best bands around and the newest album is excellent. No idea how they are not bigger. They remind me of a mix of Gaslight Anthem and Alkaline Trio with a hint of that 90s era Gin Blossoms alternative vibe. Love em.

The recent songs these guys have put out are just outstanding. It's so nice to have full albums to listen through where every song is a banger.
I’m a simple man, I see Menzingers, I smack that like button before the video even starts.
When I first started truck driving, I was home 2 days a month. This song reminds me of how my wife felt. It almost destroyed us. I had to quit.
These guys fill the void that The Gaslight Anthem left when they split. If there's a better album in this genre than After The Party this decade, I haven't heard it.
I have high expectations for this album.

There's two better albums from this decade, they are called "Rented World" and "On The Impossible Past"
Was always of the opinion that On The Impossible Past was easily their best album, but yeah After The Party is standing the test of time, it's still fucking brilliant 2 years after

I'm feeling the Springsteen vibes on this track. (The storytelling, the bigger sound, etc) Also, Greg is doing some awesome new things with his vocals. It's great to see them grow as artists while carrying The Bosses torch into a totally new generation & sound.
I was thinking the same thing! Not so much emulating Bruce directly, but in the way Gaslight emulates them.
@@ChrisRaghoobar Gaslight emulates Bruce pretty much as directly as you can without being a Springsteen cover band. They expanded a bit as they went on, but some of those songs border on copyright infringement.

Ik it’s super basic but maaan I relate to the beginning. We’d drink this strawberry moscato that she would refrigerate and she’d make us this lemon pepper chicken recipe. I showed her how to make it but somehow she made it so much better. After she started to feel the wine she would really start to sing, dance, and get handsy with me. I haven’t experienced that in months and there’s so much I want to tell her about how I feel and how my life is going now that she’s not part of it but Ik she’s never coming back

Funny how my life really revolves around sappy emotional bands like The Menzingers. It was recently when I left a toxic relationship and this girl I liked too broke up too. We were only friends for three years only started to spend extra time hanging out after our breakup. Life became overwhelming when both our lives turn to a certain downfall from depression, daily life and working with our demons so I hope one fine day I'll tell her I truly love her despite everything that happened. A very glad coincidence this song was released around this point of time. I wanna dedicate this song to you E.P.

Anna was the name of the girl I had the most intense crush on in high school. Kind of the beginning of my patterns of “such the type of girl I go for it hurts”, at least really solidifying it.
I see a lot of my self in this song, and The Menzingers in general, and even though they don’t always seem like the happiest people, I’m not sure if this is proper regret-core either.
It’s not just the name choice/attraction, but seeing myself in the lifestyle and decisions as well as the character, integrity, and sincerity at play here really makes me feel at least for a minute like I’m doing something right.
