This is pretty neat. I've been thinking about checking this out when I first saw the chapters on Batoto, but the cover art somehow turned me off. It looks much better full-size that's for sure.
Drawing style is nice and detailed, though the fights are a bit hard to follow even for a manga.
The whole reaching for the heavens/becoming best general thing reminded me of Zoro's background from One Piece (I'm sure there are other titles/real legends that have this, but that was what came to mind when I read it).
Holy shit this started as awesome!!! Oh the revenge start from here on along with living for the dream of his brother. Now he is not allowed to die before fulfilling that promise. Greatest General of China, birth of his story starts from here on!!!!
Damn the drawing style look awesome!!! and plot is really nice. One again I see that those mangakas that start from either side start of the year 2000. Make damn good mangas!!!
Victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory however long and hard the road may be; for without victory, there is no survival.~Winston Churchill
"Fate of the universe will be Decided as it SHOULD be, in MORTAL KOMBAT!" ~Elder Gods
"Justice WILL Prevail?" "But OF COURSE IT WILL!! WHOEVER WINS, BECOMES THE JUSTICE!!!" ~Donquixote Doflamingo (King, Pirate, Shichibukai, Philosopher(?) (One Piece))

IT GETS SO MUCH BETTER. Even the art style. You have a lot too look forward to yo.
NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL A HOOK!
Shame i'll have to put it to rest for a while, since i really don't want to have so many mangas in a reading stage at the same moment.
Wow, shit, I seriously thought Piao was gonna go big along with Xin. I guess I was wrong.
Great first chapter, I knew Kingdom had awesome art, but I didn't expect it to be this neat from the get-go. Very impressed.
Kind of an ok chapter. Too much unnatural exposition. I like exposition but this was just "Read it. Done".
I'd have liked to see more from Piao and Xin.
I thought they were either be a Naruto Sasuke type of characters or they would grow together and conquer China. Guess the author didn't want that. I just hope the series now doesn't feel unbalanced.
I've started re-reading Kingdom again (3rd read overall) after I couldn't let the hype with the anime currently in the 3rd season be wasted, and man that first chapter still is good as the introduction to a very lengthy epic. Poor Hyou though being got immediately after getting that offer to work in the throne. Art's definitely improved significantly over the years but the art in the first chapter is better than I expected to be fair.
And I'm still waiting for the day that adult Shin from those first couple of pages shows up in the manga eventually, the journey currently is halfway but still so much time and plot to go till it gets to that point.
I already like the setting right from the 1st chapter in kingdom...the art and expression both are intense and exciting!
do wanted them to become a general together as it was their dream they worked together for years and fought battles :( was very connecting panel where they were crying while fighting at last night! I didn't expected Hyou to die right in the 1st chapter at all but the Map Hyou gave him must be something important...
I've been wanting to start reading this manga for a long time, but I didn't because I didn't really like the art style. I'm glad I finally read the first chapter, this was a very interesting start. I will probably read all of the chapters if it's like this till the newest chapters xd
Hyou seemed to be a kinda likeable character, it's sad he died in the first chap :(
